Choose your dates and send a short request about your group. The Host reviews it and replies within 24 hours. If it is approved, the Host sends payment details, and your dates are confirmed once payment is received by bank transfer or InstaPay. Nothing is charged when you send the request.

Yes. It is the same lodge on every platform. When you book on a platform, that platform’s payment, cancellation and deposit rules apply.

Yes, the minimum stay is 2 nights, all year round.

The lodge is for families, including families travelling with friends. Couples, solo travellers and groups of friends are welcome with the Host’s approval, and the Host may ask for documents. Up to 5 guests stay, and infants aged 0–3 stay free. Where Egyptian regulations require it, couples may be asked to show a marriage certificate, and relatives travelling together may be asked for proof of their relationship. The Host will confirm what applies to your group before your stay.

No. The price you see is the final price for the lodge, with no booking, service or cleaning fees added. Only the refundable security deposit is paid separately, on arrival.

Yes. You can see prices and pay in US dollars or Egyptian pounds. The pound price uses the exchange rate shown when you book.

Once the Host approves your request, you get the payment details by email or WhatsApp. For now, the full amount for your stay is paid before arrival by bank transfer or InstaPay, and your dates are confirmed once payment is received. Only the security deposit is paid on arrival. No card details are taken on this website.

Each night is priced on its own. October to May is high season, June to September is standard season, and holidays such as Christmas, New Year and the Eids cost more. Thursday and Friday nights are a little higher.

For direct bookings, a refundable security deposit is held: USD 100 (or the equivalent in EGP) for stays of up to 5 nights, or one night’s rate for stays of more than 5 nights. It covers missing items, damage, lost keys or extra cleaning. It is paid on arrival in cash, by bank transfer or InstaPay, and returned after check-out.

For direct bookings: 100% refund if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in, a 50% refund if you cancel between 14 days and 2 days before check-in, and no refund within 2 days of check-in.

Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 PM. Early check-in or late check-out can be requested, subject to availability, and may cost extra.

Fly into Hurghada International Airport. Soma Bay is about 50 km south of Hurghada on the Safaga road, roughly an hour’s drive. Exact directions are in your guest area after booking.

Someone from the Host’s team will be at the lodge to welcome you and hand over the keys. Full arrival details are in your guest area once your stay is confirmed.

A valid ID or passport for each adult, for guest registration. Towels, linen and kitchen basics are provided; bring swimwear, sun cream and a light layer for winter evenings.

Yes, free Wi-Fi throughout the lodge. The network name and password are in your guest area.

Yes. Guests have free access to the community pools. A heated pool about 500 m from the lodge is warm through the winter, and the lagoon pools at Mesca and Blanca are free to use too.

Drift Lodge guests can use Soma Bay’s open-access beaches. Kaktus Beach is home to the Duotone watersports centre. Mesca Beach is long and wide, with pools at the cabana area, a BBQ area, an outdoor gym, a kids’ play area, and food and drinks. WYTE Beach Club is open to all, with a fee for umbrellas that includes towels, cold water and an ice bucket. Blanca Beach, a new free-access beach, is due to open in Q4 2026. Hotel beaches offer day use under each hotel’s own rules. White Beach is for homeowners only.

Beach access is set by Soma Bay management, which may change the rules or add charges at any time, especially in peak season.

Yes, free parking at the lodge.

Egypt uses two-pin sockets (types C and F). Some appliances in the lodge have UK plugs, and adapters are provided in the kitchen and bedrooms.

Smoking is allowed on the terrace only. Please don’t smoke indoors.

Yes. There is a twin bedroom, and children 4–12 count as guests. Please supervise children near the terrace, stairs and windows. A cot and high chair are not available, so please bring your own if you need them.

No. Infants aged 0–3 stay free and are not counted toward the 5 guests.

Visitors need the Host’s approval first. Parties and events are not allowed.

Sorry, pets are not allowed at the lodge.
